Application Support Engineer

Position Description:

For the next stage of the project we need to extend our teams in Wrocław. This is a challenging engagement where for the start the applications are being migrated to new data centre. Besides supporting the migration, the team will be responsible for administration, monitoring, troubleshooting and fixing issues related to large number of applications. The customer is located in the Netherlands, the team will be cooperating with Dutch colleagues.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Former background with application technical support (administration or operation), including analysis and troubleshooting of issues
• Hands on with Windows Server, Linux or AIX and corresponding scripting
• Experience with installation and deployment of applications to various environments
• Acquaintance with systems and infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios)
• Familiarity with analysing data in database (MS SQL, Oracle), SQL and data patching
• Technical experience with Application Servers configuration and troubleshooting (e.g. IIS, Tomcat, Weblogic, Websphere, JBoss)
• Very good command of Polish and English
• Willingness to learn and acquire new knowledge
Nice to habe:
• Practical knowledge of scheduling tools (preferably Tivoli Workload Scheduler)
• Familiarity with Virtualization aspects (e.g. VMWare)
• Experience with administration / configuration of Databases (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL)
• Knowledge of automatic deployment tools (e.g. XL Deploy, Jenkins)
