Wayfair is currently seeking Software Developers in Test to join our Engineering team in Boston. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience with test automation, test automation frameworks and implementing test automation best practices. You will use these skills as a passionate quality advocate, working with Engineering and Business peers to design, build, qualify and deliver a world-class shopping experience to our customers. You understand the difference between different types of testing, such as white/black box, API, Integration, UI and manual test, and you know where/when each is the appropriate choice. You thrive in a fast-paced, Agile/CI environment that places a premium on collaboration.

What will your role be?

• As a member of the Development team, your work will begin at the earliest stages of product development; Influencing requirements, architecture, design and process to enable and improve testability.
• You will work alongside engineering and business stakeholders throughout all phases of the SDLC.
• You will have a test automation-first mindset, developing tests in parallel with feature development.
• You will leverage existing test frameworks, and contribute to their extension, to accomplish your qualification objectives in an Agile/CI environment.
• You will advocate for Product Quality, on behalf of our customers.
• You will flex your knowledge and experience in test automation to determine the best type of test to implement, such as API, Integration, DAO, or manual test.
• You will have the opportunity to share your knowledge, experience and practical results across multiple teams, as part of Wayfair’s culture of collaboration.

About You

• You have 4+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering, SDeT, or similar, role with demonstrated success with automated testing
• You have at least 4+ years of experience with JavaScript, PHP or similar scripting languages.
• You have experience working in an Agile/CI development environment.
• You have at least 4+ years of experience with UI automation tools knowledge, such as Selenium and/or Codeception.
• You have experience with API/Integration testing with or without tools such as Postman/Rest-assured/SoapUI.
• You have familiarity with Chrome DevTools with a solid understanding of OO methodology.
• You are strongly motivated to apply technical skills to solve tough problems with automation.
• You are passionate about implementing best practices in testing.
• You have strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks and work autonomously and an adaptive personality with the ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
