Principal Construction Lead

Overview

The Principal Construction Lead will be responsible for leading the construction process for new Chick-fil-A Restaurants in their regional territory. This will include both Free Standing and In-Line Restaurants.

Responsibilities

• Select, develop, and lead outside resources; including project management consultants, general contractors, and other strategic business partners
• Serve as the primary construction contact for Operators, Field Operations, Restaurant Design, Facilities & Equipment, and all other internal stakeholders within region
• Partner with organizational stakeholders to ensure effective communication, teamwork, and great results on each project
• Create and steward the regional construction budget
• Ensure timely construction schedules
• Provide problem solving input and solutions to ongoing construction issues
• Schedule strategic site visits to coach the team, verify that plan compliance and quality expectations are met
• Provide construction related follow-up services to Operators during their first year of business
• Influence the design and construction of future restaurants through value engineering and incorporating LEAN best practices to streamline the construction process and gain efficiencies

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in retail or larger scale commercial construction within the preconstruction or construction phase
• Strong background in project management and contract negotiations
• Previous experience with LEAN construction techniques
• Demonstrated strong leadership abilities and can achieve results through others
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, as an individual, and in a group setting)
