DIRECTOR OF MARKETING ANALYTICS- ACQUISITION - FIXED TERM POSITION 5-6 MONTHS

The Consumer Analytics team at Rakuten Rewards is looking for an Interim Director of Marketing Analytics- Acquisition for a temporary employment period of approximately 5-6 months. The Consumer Analytics team manages the development, forecasting and execution of key data-driven analyses to support the overall Marketing vision. The team measures the impact of marketing programs, leverages KPI data to influence changes to those programs and deliver insights with strategic implications. This is both a hands-on and strategic role- the right person can tell stories with data and will inform and influence strategic decision-making at all levels of the organization.

About the Role:
The Director of Marketing Analytics- Acquisition is passionate about solving business problems and effective at turning large datasets into actionable insights. They excel at data mining, analysis and forecasting. They are highly skilled at visualizing and communicating insights to leadership. They will be using data and marketing performance insights to understand ways to maximize cost efficiency across multiple marketing programs and channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively analyze data and determine trends to help troubleshoot platform performance issues and communicate solutions
  • Identify business opportunities and recommend appropriate action to maximize financial objectives
  • Develop predictive models to forecast future implications of current trends. Communicate risk/opportunities these models uncover to key stakeholders
  • Analyze Acquisition metrics that tie back to business performance and initiatives (FTBs, cFTB, Sign-Ups). Present results on weekly/monthly basis to key stakeholders and leadership team
  • Involvement in monthly process of tracking spend against Marketing Acquisition budget and end of month reconciliation with Accounting
  • Work closely with channel managers to identify key questions, problems, KPIs and develop analytical frameworks to drive campaign performance

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience working in business intelligence, data analytics or a similar quantitative role
  • Experience working as a marketing analyst for an ecommerce website
  • Strong understanding of consumer life cycle and full range of marketing channels (Direct response, Paid, Referral)
  • Advanced SQL capabilities - ability to write complex and optimized queries to extract data from our data warehouse
  • Results-oriented with proven experience and a passion for finding insights or complex patterns in data and the ability to influence the company’s agenda with those insights
  • Experience building intuitive and actionable dashboards and data visualizations that drive business decisions (Tableau, Amplitude or similar BI platforms)
  • A great storyteller who can make complex data analyses accessible to any audience
  • A degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or another field with quantitative roots and demands
  • Experience communicating with cross-functional stakeholders
