About the Role: Production Engineer Intern

Our production engineers are responsible for building automation, maintaining, and troubleshooting Jump’s global production systems, including one of the largest super-computing grids in the world.

As a production engineer intern you will:

• Get daily access to world-class, large-scale production systems as well as an unparalleled high-performance research “supercomputer”.
• Perform the functions of architect, engineer, and administrator.
• Work alongside experienced production engineers and receive ongoing guidance and mentorship from them throughout your internship.

Our internship program is the primary way we identify top junior-level engineers for our production engineering team, and it’s a proven path for earning full-time / permanent positions at Jump Trading.

The Ideal Candidate

• Strong skills in Linux, programming, troubleshooting, networking, creative problem solving.
• Loves to tinker with new technology and has the ability to quickly pick up new technologies and programming languages (plus if the passion is Linux).
• A true “self-starter”. Starts and completes projects with little to no direction or guidance. Doesn’t wait around to be told what to do next. High energy and enthusiasm around solving problems.
• Demonstrates professional maturity. Is willing to do anything that it takes to fix the problem. Thinks to themselves, “if it’s good for team and the organization, I’ll get the job done”
• “Thinks globally, acts locally”; Has a good mix of skills between engineering and firefighting

Although we strongly value training in Computer Science and Engineering, we are excited to meet people with exceptional achievements in any technical discipline.
