Job Description

Jump established a global footprint with the launch of our London office in 2009. The office is at the pinnacle of development, having landed a new member for virtually every team in the organization (Trading, Technology, Operations, Talent Acquisition, Legal/Compliance and Human Resources) and functioning as a true global operation.

Working in the London office has the feel of a small start-up with the benefits of being part of one of the leading quantitative trading firms in the World. We are looking for a creative thinker who is competitive and driven with a passion for trading and the financial markets. Focuses will include; detailed understanding of a multitude of strategies, using internal tools to understand market and order data, performing latency analysis on strategy performance, all with the aim of increasing performance and being competitive as an organization. The ideal candidate is a confident decision maker who takes a natural accountability for their process. Strong communication skills are absolutely essential to working in this environment.

What You'll Do:

As an algorithmic trader, you have an opportunity to join a dynamic group of people focused on researching, interpreting and capitalizing on the global trading markets. The ideal candidate for this position will be interested in learning how they can apply their skills in a quantitative trading environment. You should have a can do attitude around supporting the team in a variety of ways and be motivated by this chance to learn and work alongside a team of experienced traders and technologists. You will be on the front line in trading the global markets through changing economic conditions and market events.

  • Execution of trading strategies
  • Monitoring PnL and making adjustments to trading strategies throughout the shift.
  • Preparation of daily P&L, exposure and risk reports.
  • Communicating with trading exchanges and internal technology groups regarding trading system issues.
  • Managing and reporting any potential compliance issues.
  • Researching potential trading opportunities and helping to devise new trading strategies.
  • Provide feedback to the team about strategy performance using analysis tools.
  • Improve strategies using back-test.
  • Tackle operational challenges, ensuring our automated trading systems are continuously operating at maximum performance.

Skills You’ll Need:

  • Graduate or undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Physics or Engineering
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiar with C++ and python programming
  • Desire to work within a collaborative, team-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure
  • Up to 3 years of academic or professional experience
  • Understanding of Linux admin and shell scripting is a plus
  • Familiarity with automated trading systems is a plus
