About the role:

Robinhood Markets (RHM) is the parent company of various subsidiaries, such as Robinhood Financial (RHF), Robinhood Securities (RHS) and Robinhood Crypto (RHC). We are looking for a Head of Operational Risk for RHM who will partner closely with the leadership team of each business unit to advise, build and scale strong operational risk management and training programs. This leader would build a parent company-level program to monitor key performance metrics and partner with engineering teams to build enterprise-wide operational risk solutions at scale.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and optimizing processes, programs, and shared services to support Robinhood's rapid growth. This position will report directly to our VP of Risk & Compliance Solutions.

Your day-to-day will involve:

• Own the development of Robinhood’s operational risk management framework, standards and methodology
• Conduct top-down operational risk assessments for Robinhood’s introducing and clearing brokerages, cash management program, and crypto currency businesses
• Partner with RHM and business unit leadership to set appropriate risk tolerance levels and create monitoring deliverables
• Advise brokerage business, product and operations leaders on effective risk and control measures in key operational areas, such as trading, margin, order routing, and trade reporting
• Proactively identify operational risks and assess the adequacy of controls to manage such risks, including recommending enhanced or additional controls
• Define and lead enterprise operational risk programs and d rive the long-term roadmap for operational risk management at Robinhood
• Identify operational risk training needs and create training programs
• Manage ad hoc projects and initiatives that enhance the control environment, and respond to regulatory/audit requests
• Produce regular operational risk briefings and presentations that summarize key metrics and operational data

Some things we consider critical for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• 14+ years of broker-dealer experience with risk management programs, or related business, operations or compliance roles
• Ability to design and implement operational risk programs at scale; experience leading risk mitigation strategies and regulatory compliance initiatives
• Experience driving operational efficiencies by redesigning processes and implementing technical solutions
• Strong project management experience with ability to partner across functional teams and communicate with technical and non-technical users
• Strong analytical abilities to solve complex problems and automate reporting and analysis, all while maintaining strong attention to detail and organizational skills
