Job Description

Random House Children’s Books seeks a Marketing Coordinator for their Trade Marketing Team to develop and implement marketing campaigns for assigned titles across the Trade publishing Middle Grade list with a goal of creating awareness and driving sales. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the School & Library Marketing, Digital Marketing, Design, and Publicity teams to create cohesive plans, ensure consistent messaging and calculated strategy, and analyze results.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns for select frontlist and backlist titles.
  • Research and propose new marketing and advertising opportunities by providing campaign analytics, developing backlist promotions, coordinating direct-to-consumer outreach, and executing retail initiatives
  • Act as liaison between the trade marketing team and outside advertising vendors through effectively communicating advertising opportunities to the team, maintaining a good relationship with the vendors, and advising on strategy where necessary
  • Maintain and track budget for assigned campaigns and provide assistance on managing trade marketing team budget as a whole
  • Create distributions such as proposed print quantities of marketing materials, working back with sales to establish estimates and orders
  • Perform administrative tasks and provide additional support to the Senior Marketing Manager as necessary

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in marketing. Book marketing preferred.
  • Interest in working with Middle Grade books (books for kids ages 8-12) a must. Experience working with children’s books a plus.
  • Highly organized with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
  • Self-motivated worker comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with a team
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn, speak in meetings, and come up with solutions
