Job Summary

Tax Mgmt.: This position will report to the VP of Tax & Treasury. The person will be responsible for the day-to-day management of key aspects of the tax department including global tax planning, direct and indirect tax compliance, global tax controversy coordination, tax contract review, tax technology implementation, tax accounting for acquisitions and IP Migration, and review of quarterly and annual tax accounting entries. They will be responsible to develop and lead a team of dedicated tax professionals, develop and implement systems to compile information for various federal, state, and local reports and tax account entries, ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, assess the tax implications surrounding pending mergers and acquisitions, recommends ways to minimize corporate tax compliance with tax laws and regulations, and to develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Job Requirements

• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, especially executive presence and presentation skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills are required.
• Demonstrated experience working with outside services providers, including the Big 4 and major law firms.
• Accounting for the income tax effects of stock-based-compensation in a post-Altera and post-IP on-shoring world
• Cash tax rate forecasting and analysis
• Experience with integrating Alteryx and/or PowerBi in tax processes
• Reviewing quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments
• Accounting/Planning for income tax effects of GILTI, FDII, and BEAT
• Prior experience implementing tax software and ERP implementations
• Prior experience with developing budgets and controlling costs.
• A demonstrated ability to manage professional level employees.
• Proven track record of setting aggressive goals and objectives and delivering exceptional results.


Management and Interaction: This position is responsible for directing and controlling activities that directly impact the business and our engagement with customers. Accordingly, the person must be capable of navigating the dynamic nature of global tax reform in the light of BEPS and U.S. Tax Reform into strategies and operational plans that will have a significant operational and financial impact on the company. This individual will use in-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations and case law to solve abstract issues and assess intangible variables, and establish long-range plans. Accordingly, the individual must have broad experience with U.S. federal and state tax laws, international tax principles, indirect taxes (sales & use, VAT and GST), and GAAP rules around accounting for income taxes. A working knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion and OneSource/Corptax will be a plus. This individual must demonstrate strong leadership skills and working collaboratively with other functions within finance and with other business units in the company.

Education
  • BS/BA degree in accounting/finance/economics.
  • A CPA license, Master’s degree in taxation and/or law degree is preferred.
  • Prior tax department Director level experience is required.
  • Public accounting experience.
