Why We Need You: PagerDuty is looking for a strong team-player who will support the sales and legal team by negotiating, drafting and closing SaaS agreements, and other commercial transactions. You will also have the opportunity to support the legal team on a variety of interesting, cross-functional projects to increase operational efficiency/excellence. This individual will report to the Associate General Counsel of Go-to-Market/Legal Operations.

How You Impact Our Vision

    • Draft, negotiate, and close SaaS agreements, channel partnership agreements, professional
    • services agreements, amendments, NDAs and other commercial contracts.
    • Provide strategic advice to the sales team, partner with the legal team to provide client
    • service to sales organization, and successfully execute sales strategy and business plan.
    • Utilize verbal skills and craft custom legal language to succinctly explain complex concepts to
    • business partners and customers.
    • Administer and create improvements to the company's contract management process and contracts database system.
    • Contribute to various internal operations projects including templates, policies, playbooks.
    • Assist with other projects as needed.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in providing legal and customer support to internal clients.
    • Conduct tracking of existing contractual terms and provide high level summaries.

Minimum Requirements

    • 5+ years’ relevant experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
    • BA or BS degree; Contracts Manager with a JD will be considered.
    • Technology industry experience and knowledge of subscription licensing principles.
    • Ability to read, draft and understand contractual terms, strong experience in redlining and negotiating agreements.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting a large sales organization.
    • Experience using CRM and document management tools such as Salesforce, DocuSign and DocuSign CLM, and JIRA.
    • Experience supporting business development with channel partnerships with partnership agreements and other BD commercial agreements a plus.
    • Adept with Excel and Microsoft Word including redlining, and other contracts lifecycle management technology.
    • Must be a flexible, team-player and able to work well independently.
    • Must be able to take complex legal concepts and explain them in a way that allows a non-legal professional to understand the issue and the associated risk.
    • Creative thinker; ability to problem solve.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
