Your Opportunity


The Advisor Services Technology (AST) organization leads the development and maintenance of Schwab's technology platforms for Registered Investment Advisors. We serve the needs of advisors across all of their technology needs. We are seeing a talented Senior Manager, who embraces being a technical leader and has a real passion for helping teams to build compelling interactive web applications using state of the art technologies. This manager will lead the teams responsible for the trading experience on our Schwab Advisor Center web platform, as well as key platform integrations with other systems (front-end and back-end) in our trading ecosystem. Our mission is to build elegant solutions that achieve measurable value, which empower our clients, and to do so in a fun and engaging way.

What you are good at


  • Partner closely with the business, product, and other technology teams to deliver integrated solutions in a timely, efficient manager.
  • Manage multiple scrum teams composed of both FTEs as well as onshore and offshore vendor staff.
  • Develop and mentor our junior staff as they continue to grow in their careers and capabilities, while also providing structure to our senior team members as they work together to deliver compelling solutions.
  • Partner with the product owners to define both the near-term and long-term product roadmap.
  • Work alongside AST leadership to define and deliver on project resourcing strategy, as well as prioritization of work in such a way as to lead to
  • Oversee both funded project work, as well as maintenance and business-as-usual activities for the platform.

What you have


  • 10+ years’ experience in web-based full stack application development, including 5+ years as a manager or technical lead
  • Prior team management experience very strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of the financial services domain, and in particular trading, preferred
  • Extensive experience leading Java development teams required.
  • Knowledge of C#/.NET development tools and practices is a plus, as well as the Atlassian suite of tools
  • Strong technology affinity and experience, as well as attention to detail and the ability to design, execute, and maintain strategic goals and metrics
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to work under pressure in a complex, mission-critical environment
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment across multiple locations and time zones
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Colorado Compensation

Target Total Compensation- 123,300 - 220,400
