Your Opportunity


The Sales Optimization team is hiring a Director to advance Intelligent Communications within our Retail enterprise. This capability will use data to deliver of personalized content directly to Clients on behalf of their Financial Consultant. By automating these communications, we will increase client engagement while simultaneously driving scale for our client-facing teams. The ideal candidate will be the de-facto leader of this new capability and will succeed by setting strategic direction, developing business case(s), establishing operating models, conducting detailed analyses, and leading all aspects of end-product and content delivery. This individual would collaborate with a broad set of contacts including Marketing, Digital, Field Leaders, Consultants and others. Additionally, this person would be responsible for serving as the Business Owner to other key capabilities that drive Client-facing team scale including texting, digital appointment scheduling, screen-sharing and other capabilities.

Will work on a variety of topics – from strategic development and evaluation of new concepts (“Would doing X add value for Schwab and why?”) to driving specifications for pilots to partnering with other Schwab teams in technology and marketing to finding answers to difficult questions to playing the role of business partners for product delivery. This role reports to the Managing Director of the group.

What you are good at


  • Serve as the strategic lead for driving client engagement through email and other tactics. In this role, they will need to simultaneously drive engaging content strategy (with Marketing) and platform improvements (with host of technical teams)
  • Own and work through a mix of problem statements in a structured way to project plan, analyze, solve, and recommend paths forward
  • Create high quality presentations to engage/influence a wide range of partners, from senior leadership to technology teams on topics ranging from strategy to alignment and Lead program updates
  • Partner with Sales CRM owner to develop business cases to further optimize client engagement tactics
  • Build important relationships with colleagues virtually, particularly Sales executives (our clients)

What you have


  • Consultative Experience: A total of 5+ years of full-time experience with strong examples of having worked with stakeholders and influencing strategic decisions in sophisticated environments; ideally, a candidate has worked at least 3+ years in strategy/management consulting working on diverse set of problems spanning from pure strategy to program delivery
  • Marketing Automation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with experience in crafting marketing journeys to improve client engagement
  • Superior analytical skills: Strong interest in data analysis and translating insights into concise, executive-level presentations using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Technology Fluency: ability to converse with technology and product teams and comfort being part of high level architectural, platform, and delivery conversations
  • Domain Knowledge: Background in marketing/channel strategy/lead management is valued
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity: exploring new, yet untested concepts, ideas, programs and taking on new problems that require working with a wide variety of partners to find solutions
  • A bias for action: the ability to overcome obstacles, solve challenges creatively, and successfully implement, at times under tight timeframes and within dynamic work environments
  • Financial Services proven experience, while not crucial, is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required (MBA a plus)
