Job Description

We are looking for a Director to lead marketing for Flatiron Health’s suite of Clinical Research offerings. We believe that traditional clinical research paradigms are ill-equipped to address the volume and complexity of research questions that face drug developers, research teams, and regulators today. Flatiron’s Clinical Research Business Unit (BU) is building technology-first products and operations to support new approaches to prospective evidence generation and clinical trial execution. Our clinical research technology is deployed across a diverse set of top-tier academic medical centers as well as a broad network of community oncology clinics. Flatiron also has active research partnerships with leading biopharma companies, CROs, the FDA, and the NCI.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll serve as the product marketing lead for the Clinical Research BU, one of the fastest growing business lines for Flatiron. You will be tasked with go to market plan development, sales enablement and brand awareness strategy in addition to strategizing with business leadership on levers to shape the market and grow the business. In addition, you’ll also:

  • Build and lead a high performing marketing pod that ensures a strategic commercialization approach and consistency in our marketing efforts across community cancer clinics, sponsors, CROs and academic medical centers
  • Define the strategy for launching new products and services to our market, including purpose, positioning and target market, and collaborate with product and sales teams to execute on strategy and approach
  • Develop compelling product messaging, value proposition and storyline that differentiates Flatiron products from competitor offerings; contribute to thought leadership efforts
  • Manage competitive intelligence and market research for the Clinical Research BU to ensure data-driven decision making
  • Liaise between the Clinical Research BU and the broader marketing organization to leverage additional resources to achieve commercial success (e.g., Conferences/ events, web presence, digital demand generation, design & brand)
  • Partner with product leadership to assess product-market fit of new products and features.

This role covers sponsor, site, and academic-facing products including our suite of clinical research SaaS technologies, prospective studies, and data products that support clinical trials.

In this role, you will work closely and cross-functionally with the Clinical Research BU Lead and the Commercial/Sales and Product Management leads to drive value for our customers and business. This position reports to the Head of Product Marketing - Flatiron Evidence.

Who You Are

You're an individual with a deep understanding of clinical research, an analytical approach to problem solving and experience building high performing product marketing teams. You are highly motivated by being part of a cross-functional team focused on transformational change in the area of clinical research. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact. In addition:

  • You are a commercial strategist with experience leading teams in developing B2B marketing strategy; Ideally in clinical research
  • You have 7-8 years in one or more of the following:
    • Healthcare technology companies focused on clinical research; specifically focused on marketing to biopharma customers
    • Clinical research organizations (CROs) focused on innovation
    • Healthcare oriented consulting firms with a focus on clinical research and marketing
  • You are an exceptional storyteller and communicator, with the ability to turn complex data science / statistics, technology and clinical concepts into clear communications
  • You have deep subject matter expertise in clinical research/clinical trials on both the sponsor and site side - ideally with a specific understanding of technology used to support and drive greater efficiency in clinical trials (e.g., design, site selection, patient recruitment, data management)
  • You are flexible, have a start-up mindset, and enjoy a fast-paced environment
  • You have strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills with the ability to independently drive cross-functional initiatives
  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • You are proactive, self-motivated and self-directed, detail-oriented, comfortable with ambiguity, and data-driven
  • B.A. or B.S. in a scientific discipline preferred

Extra Credit:

  • You have experience with novel approaches to leveraging data and technology to design better clinical trials, accelerate patient recruitment and/or re-imagine clinical trial data collection and management
  • You have experience across multiple marketing disciplines (content, digital, field marketing, in addition to product marketing)
  • You have experience with and are well versed in a wide array of evidence generation strategies (e.g., real-world evidence, prospective registries, interventional clinical trials)
  • You have oncology experience
  • You have an advanced degree (MS, PhD, MPH, MBA)
