What you’ll do

As Product Director, Public Sector, you will be responsible for building and maintaining development activities that align with and support our U.S. Military product strategy. You will be reporting into the Head of Product. To succeed in this role, you must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the personal drive and charisma to make that vision a reality, largely through the work of others.

In this role as Product Director, you will support the Public Sector business line and will be expected to grow the value and utility of its products in a dynamic, fast-moving data marketplace, with their success governed and measured by product-specific KPIs. This is a key strategic leadership role so expectations are high and outstanding presence and communications skills are a must.

Responsibilities

  • Build, articulate and execute on the transportation product roadmap.
  • Share ownership of the holistic view of our product portfolio; ensuring that our products work in concert and are appropriately balanced against the needs of multiple customer types and stakeholders.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to refine practices, resolve conflicts, set policy and remove impediments for product development
  • Partner with product marketing and customer success on gathering user feedback, insights from sales on market feedback in order to build out clear, concise value propositions that position our products effectively.
  • Partner with User Experience and Engineering leads on research and discovery practices that allow for rapid concept testing to ensure we deploy production-develop capabilities against proven product ideas.
  • Own and lead the Customer Advisory Board of our most influential customers.
  • Assist product managers with the creation of clear and measurable KPIs, goals and objectives, each related to the creation and enhancement of timely, high-quality products that support critical business objectives and multiple stakeholders.
  • Assist cross functional team members with ongoing prioritization and resource allocation to ensure that KPIs are effectively delivered.
  • Participate with the leadership team on strategy, budgeting and capacity planning.

Qualifications

  • Ability to build products and explain concepts to internal stakeholders, new and existing customers, and technical audiences by leveraging strong communication skills with a proven capability to translate complex technologies for different target groups
  • Deep understanding of concepts and technology behind big data and predictive analytics within a Public/Government setting.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and develop the leadership skills of others.
  • 10+ years product management/product development experience, within, Transportation/Fleet management, SaaS based products, and product development.
  • Significant experience creating lucrative consumer-facing web applications that help users solve important problems.
  • Commitment to and hands-on familiarity with SCRUM or other agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and judgment.
  • Highly self-directed team player.
  • Commitment to rapid discovery of minimum viable products, and to iterative testing cycles to sort out the most lucrative ideas and continually improve them.
  • Excellent communications skills with an innate ability to empathize with and relate to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree Required with a major in either Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred.
  • Must be a United States citizen as this role requires U.S. citizenship as you will be working on products for our U.S, military vertical.
