How You Will Make An Impact At thredUP we’re revolutionizing the clothing industry, and we want your help to design and evolve applications that build the backbone of our company. From image-processing and real-time prediction systems, to distribution center automation and workflow-management, there are a huge number of challenging and fun projects on the horizon that you can make an impact on. We are also devoting significant time towards decoupled services, machine learning, continuous integration, and scalability.

In This Role You’ll Get To:

    • Architect, build, maintain, and improve our warehouse and distribution center applications (back-end, front-end, mobile, desktop). Continuously optimize operational applications and partner with stakeholders to engineer solutions to their needs.
    • Post-deploy verifications, monitoring, and maintenance. Present and document your solutions to operators (our users) and training team.
    • Build tooling around monitoring, logging, automated testing and A/B testing.
    • Share on-call support responsibilities with the team to ensure our warehouses don’t get blocked by issues related to our systems. Navigate support issues when they occur and partner with the team to quickly diagnose and fix issues in potentially unfamiliar areas.
    • Build dashboards using BI software (Looker) to monitor and analyze your project data.

What We’re Looking For:

    • Proficiency with Ruby and Ruby based Frameworks (Rails, Grape, Sinatra)
    • Proficiency with relational databases, SQL, and data modeling
    • Proficiency with at least one front-end JS framework (we use React)
    • Ability and desire to learn business processes, identify inefficiencies, and engineer solutions to improve them
    • Exceptional track record in delivering quality engineering solutions at different levels of the stack
    • Experience in distributed systems design and best practices
    • Experience with continuous integration, test automation, and monitoring
    • Bonus: React Native mobile development experience
