The Opportunity

Our work in education is aimed at ensuring that every student — not just a lucky few — can get an education that’s tailored to their individual needs and supports every aspect of their development. We’re pairing engineering with grantmaking, impact investing, policy, and advocacy work to help every young person enter adulthood with the skills and abilities they need to reach their full potential — and equip every teacher with the tools and research they need to help students get there.

Our education team is responsible for improving how:

• Teachers facilitate personalized projects where students can build and demonstrate learning and skill growth.
• Students work through content and assessments.
• Teachers individualize instruction using real-time data to keep students appropriately challenged and highly engaged with the projects
• Students work with teacher mentors to build trusting relationships which support their development.

As a Director of Product Management, you will manage the team of product managers working on differentiated learning, as well as play a key role in defining our product strategy and roadmap toward delivering critical short- and long-term student outcomes. You are mission-driven, entrepreneurial, and committed to building transformative education technologies, with experience building zero to one products and leading high performing teams in education technology.

You will

• Manage and mentor a team of product managers, product operations, and product support specialists
• Translate market research into product vision
• Establish a shared product vision and long-term strategy for delivering student outcomes at scale across a portfolio of products
• Refine and drive team process for setting goals and metrics, defining product roadmaps, and tracking progress
• Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers, data scientists, designers, and experts in education
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse set of internal and external partners
• Integrate insights from data analysis, usability studies, research, and market analysis into product requirements
• Provide organization leadership in supporting a transition toward iterating and exploring product concepting more efficiently
• Ensure smooth product launch, support, and implementation success via the product ops and support team

You have

• 12+ years product management experience for technology products, education technology strongly preferred
• 7+ years experience as a people manager
• Demonstrated ability to design, build, launch, and iterate/improve on compelling products for consumers
• Exceptional analytical skills, including proficiency in hypothesis-driven A/B testing to drive product changes
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills across a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and fluid environment
• Zero to one product delivery from idea to execution
• Deep knowledge of K-12 products and Edtech markets, and experience working with ed tech partners
