About the team

Drift is looking to add an Accounting Intern to help scale our Accounting team. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest-growing technology companies in Boston. This person will be a critical member of a team that will help scale the company by building and fostering key business partnerships across the organization.

About the role

You will be customer-centric and passionate about making a difference in your role. You will be a self-starter, self-motivated, able to think independently and at the same time want to continue to learn and develop your skill set. You will be a thinker and problem solver. You will be a team player, able to work across different departments and different management levels, and focused on solving business and financial challenges.

  • Part time commitment approximately 15 hours/week
  • 6 months duration, with potential to extend

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You will be joining a small and dynamic finance team, reporting to the Accounting Manager, on the larger Company Success Team.
  • You will be responsible for the mapping and entering of accounts payable vendor invoices into the general ledger (NetSuite).
  • You will be responsible for all general ledger mapping and reporting for any company and virtual credit cards.
  • You will be responsible for reviewing all expense reports to ensure within policy, mapping of expense categorization, and reimbursement to employees
  • You will be responsible for reviewing all invoices for proper approvals and necessary documentation.
  • You will be responsible for initial new vendor onboarding and be one of the points of contact for our Company’s vendors.
  • You will provide accounting support for special projects and ad-hoc reporting and analysis as necessary.

About you and what type of skills you’ll need:

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance; previous internship or work experience a plus
  • Comfortable working on a fast-paced team with changing priorities
  • Consistently positive attitude
  • Reliable and very detail oriented
  • Independent/flexible problem-solver with the ability to adapt as the business grows
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to interact with various levels of management and build influential relationships with partners in the business
  • Tech savvy and eagerness to learn new technology and practices
  • If you are eager, open to take feedback quickly, learn and work hard, you will do excellent here

In service of various states’ wage disclosure laws: The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently $25/hr for US candidates. Through a review of equity with other team members, market data, experience, knowledge, skills and the abilities of the applicant, the level and salary ranges may change. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at a percentage of the base salary.
