Job Description

Our Growth Mindset (The Mission): Think back on your time in school and a project or experience that got you fired up, curious, and motivated to try your best. Can you remember one? If you’re like us, there are some projects we remember decades later -- those times when we were so engaged in what we were doing that we couldn’t help but learn. Seesaw is a learning platform that brings educators, students, and families together to deepen student learning. Teachers design and facilitate powerful learning experiences, students create, reflect, collaborate and make their learning visible, and families actively support and celebrate student learning. Seesaw is used by millions of K-12 students in over half the schools in the U.S. The Curriculum (Your Role): As a leader on the Curriculum team, you will manage a team of creative producers and contributors including artists/illustrators, video producers, and talent coordinators who build engaging, inclusive multimedia content that enhances and brings joy to the learning experience. We are mission-focused on solving key needs for students, teachers, administrators, and families– all toward the end of ensuring students have meaningful and engaging leadership experiences every day. Your Classmates (The Team): This role is a part of the Curriculum team, which is tasked with creating the award-winning PreK-6 supplemental curriculum used by millions of teachers and students. In this role, you’ll work closely with the team of curriculum developers and Operations team to deliver hundreds of media assets. You’ll also work with Curriculum leadership to support the larger Seesaw Library and content vision as well as participate in strong cross-functional projects with other team members (ex: Marketing, Implementation, PD).

    • Review, edit, and act as final approval on content created by the Creative Services team including puppet videos, animation, VO, songs, acting, and more
    • Partner and collaborate with the other Curriculum managers to ensure strategy execution and deadlines are met
    • Initiate and support collaboration with peers and stakeholders to ensure delivering high-quality products through the entire content development process
    • Directly engage in prototyping projects as needed

Prerequisites (The Requirements):

    • 5+ years (or equivalent experience) of functional experience as either a content creator or editor
    • 2+ years of experience as a team lead or manager
    • Demonstrable education expertise; experience working in the educator sector- either within schools/districts or in the private sector
    • Demonstrated ability to handle uncertainty and change, and support a team through organizational changes
    • Experience facilitating cross-functional work
    • Believe in yourself - we encourage you to apply!
A little about us: We are well-funded and have an experienced team. Work with the creators & leads of Google Calendar, Picasa, Maps, Facebook Platform, and Twitter. We care about building a diverse and inclusive team to better advocate for the needs of our incredibly diverse K-12 users. We prioritize work-life balance and actually walk the walk -- we care a lot about our work but care more about our friends and family. We encourage everyone to work at a sustainable pace and have an unlimited vacation policy that people actually use. We offer competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits including full medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, paid parental leave, flexible vacation policy, free lunch, wellness stipend, and charitable donation match.
