What will you be doing?

The role sits within the US Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management function, which has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Global Head of Enterprise Risk Management The Operational Risk Manager is part of the Second Line of Defence and has key stakeholders across the Business including, Compliance, Operations, Risk, Technology, Capital Markets, and. The role has a direct reporting line to the Chief Compliance Officer.

• Work closely with the First Line business teams to identify key operational risks and take responsibility for ensuring the First Line teams have appropriate remediation plans in place and the plans are tracked and reported according to Funding Circle’s risk governance processes
• Accountable for ensuring the Global Operational Risk Management Policy, methodology, and requirements are appropriately implemented by the US business
• Accountable for Second Line implementation responsibilities of the Global Operational Risk management Policy, e.g. conducting Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs); managing risk registers; tracking operational risk incidents and, Key Risk Indicators, and operational losses; and conducting scenario analysis
• Produce and provide risk reports, or inputs to risk reports, to the US Leadership Team, the Operational, Regulatory, Reputation and Compliance Risk Committee, the Global Management Risk Committee, and Board of Directors Risk and Compliance Committee
• Manage the US Operational Risk Subcommittee
• Proactively identify, analyze, and help to mitigate any risk issue or control weakness that arises in your day-to-day activities

Are you?

• 5+ years relevant work experience in Operational Risk Management or similar role
• Experience working in Operational Risk or Enterprise Risk in Financial Services and/or FinTech sector are highly desirable
• Strategic thinker – ability to develop a risk strategy and implementation plan
• Management skills - ability to partner with multiple stakeholders to deliver on ERM team goals
• Stakeholder management and influencing skills - Ability to gain the confidence of senior management and challenge the status quo
• Exceptional knowledge of operational risk tools and analysis
• Ability to identify and drive improvements in Global Operational Risk management Policy
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Superior problem solving and analytical skills
• Conceptual and strategic/forward thinker
• Broad knowledge of risk management and regulatory framework
• Proven track record of execution and delivery

*Colorado Only* Base Salary range of $115,000 to $132,000 + bonus + benefits
