POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director Finance is the principal finance business partner to the DVP of a Business Unit and is responsible for the financial oversight This role has direct responsibility for leading, developing and executing the budget, forecast and analysis related to Business Unit. In addition to financial support, the Director of Finance will be extensively involved in leading and/or supporting the operations financial and business performance improvement initiatives, productivity, capital efficiency, asset management, efficiencies, automation, client retention and product launches.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Planning, Forecasting and Business Analysis – Responsible for Business Unit short- and long-term financial planning cycles. Lead and develop the annual operating plan, strategic plan and monthly forecast, linking the strategy of the business to the operational units to its annual operating plan. Be able to re-engineer and deploy the process of translation of strategic targets into comprehensive well-vetted annual operating budgets. Perform analysis of actual results to forecast and advise leadership of proactive actions to ensure that the organization achieves its fiscal year targets and is positioned to achieve its long-term strategic goals.
- Strategic & Financial Support - Provides finance support and leadership to the Business Unit including all aspects of cost center accounting, expense analysis, productivity analysis and capital efficiency while ensuring compliance with ES policies. Help drive business unit readiness for execution on acquisition business cases, new product roll outs, and new systems, tools and process changes. Assists management in understanding the business dynamics which includes relationships, model, trends, leading indicators and business statistics. Partners with the organization to drive Client Service efficiencies and improve client retention.
- Business Advisory Support - Provides advice and counsel to the leadership team on interpretation of operating results and trends. Maintains awareness of general economic, business and financial conditions and their potential impact on policies and operations; communicates and recommends measures to capitalize on or protect the business from these changing conditions.
- Performance Management - Develops key process indicators and other quantifiable measurement tools to track results of business activities and regularly reports to top management. Assists management in understanding the business dynamics which includes relationships, model, trends, leading indicators and business statistics. Build a set of analytical resources and meaningful actionable reports to enhance decision-making support. Drive Simplification and process improvements to the financial reporting and financial management process.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Minimum of 15 years finance experience with last 5 years in a leadership role, proven track record of success managing and leading teams.
- Executive-level thinker with influence and credibility. Broad business knowledge and financial acumen coupled with strong interpersonal, analytical, communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate operational issues impacting performance of the business.
- Experience in a Sales operating environment with proven ability to interact and work effectively with cross functional team.
- Strong leadership skills, ability to coach, develop and mentor team.
- Self motivated, solid fiduciary and change agent.
- Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
