About the role:

As the Electronic Batch Record (EBM) Technician, you will provide technical support and hands-on training for important electronic systems in a validated environment to meet our needs of a 24x7 manufacturing site. Your efforts will ensure the and accurate completion of manufacturing batch records and supporting documentation to prepare life-saving medicine to be shipped to Takeda's patients who rely on these treatments to live their best lives. The Electronic Batch Record Technician is a member of the manufacturing team and assists with questions, issues, and troubleshooting of system errors. You will work with both Manufacturing and IT team members to coordinate support and ensure smooth manufacturing processes at the site. In addition to support, you will assist local IT with requirements and testing of updates to the batch record system to reduce issues on the manufacturing floor and maintain compliance with internal processes and federal regulations. The Electronic Batch Record Technician will participate in the software development process which may include requirements gathering, testing, and documenting system features to help deliver the required system changes per the operations' input.

How you will contribute:

  • Provide daily support for the manufacturing and quality team members throughout their use of the electronic batch record system.
  • Learn the our requirements and operations to identify how the key software systems fit into the business operations.
  • Provide insight and consulting to team members and internal clients regarding project efforts, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Participate in IT and non-IT projects.
  • Demonstrate solid technical knowledge, assess complex issues, and have comprehensive knowledge of policies, standards and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and to maximize impact on project deliverables.
  • Create training and support plans for users on new technologies, applications, and business systems.
  • Experience with GMP systems and IT systems change management process.
  • Must be proficient in written and oral English.
  • Experience participating in group projects and delivering project outcomes.
  • Experience solving complex technical problems using in-depth analysis of situations or data.
  • Experience in a client-facing role as part of the software support process.
  • Familiarity with regulated business operations.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • High School Diploma or GED plus 5+ years of related experience OR bachelor's degree in science, engineering or other related technical field and 2+ years of related experience.

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. You may:

  • In general, your work will be a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions of the facility.
  • May be required to sit and operate computer frequently and/or for extended periods of time.
  • May work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Will need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
  • May work in a cold, hot or wet environment.
  • May work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
  • Must be willing to work 12 hour shifts according to rotating 2-2-3 yearly shift calendar: Night Shift 5:00pm to 5:30am.
  • Will work on multiple shifts, including weekends, to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
  • Must be able to work non-traditional work hours, including weekends and holidays.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$26.92 - $42.31

The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
