• For this role, applicants must be pursuing their MBA.
• This position will require you to be located in the Greater Cleveland, Ohio area.
• We are in a hybrid schedule, 2 days in the office and 3 days work from home.
• Interns are responsible for securing their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship. OverDrive does not provide housing assistance or relocation support.

We are seeking a motivated and strategic MBA candidate to join our team as a Strategic Partnerships & Business Development Intern. This role is ideal for someone interested in contributing to a growth-oriented company’s exploration of new markets, strategic alliances, and M&A opportunities. As part of the Office of the CEO, you’ll support initiatives that drive innovation, expand our reach, and create long-term value for the business. Responsibilities:

• Identify and research potential partnership and acquisition opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic goals. Distill key information into research briefs and provide initial assessments of a target’s suitability for further engagement or partnership.
• Support outreach and relationship-building efforts with potential partners across the digital media, education, and publishing sectors.
• Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies to identify areas of opportunity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Sales, Operations) to ensure alignment on partnership goals and execution.
• Participate in the development of business cases, basic financial models, and presentation materials to support decision-making.
• Assist in due diligence activities and preparation for meetings with potential partners and acquisition targets.
• Contribute to internal reporting, including tracking partnership performance and key metrics.
• Attend and help prepare for external meetings, including drafting briefing documents and summarizing key takeaways.

Requirements:

• Current MBA student with a strong interest in strategy, partnerships, and/or corporate development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and curious mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
• Prior experience in consulting, business development, investment banking, or corporate strategy a plus.
• Passion for digital media, education, or publishing is a bonus.
