Global Analytics & Insights (GA&I) mission is to improve the quality of the decisions taken on our oncology assets through the creation and delivery of excellent market, customer, and competitor analytics. This role is based in our Oncology team and will lead the generation of insight and analytics within our breast cancer portfolio.
The key to excelling in this role is your ability to turn analysis into a clear story and recommendations for senior leaders. To develop these, you will be a critical thinker capable of delivering well researched, verified, and relevant analyses in a clear and impactful way. This requires the ability to lead without authority alongside strong analytical and communication skills. You will be comfortable formulating cohesive, strategic arguments which may be used to respectfully challenge a group of experts.
In addition, you need to be resourceful, motivated, decisive and proactive. You must be able to prioritise in a fast-growing organization and be confident working with incomplete data.
Accountabilities:
- Frame key business questions with ambiguity and define best analytical approach. Provide strategy-shaping market and customer analysis from a wide range of sources and lead the integration of insights and analysis to advise material business decisions.
- Identify and plan market research that enables relevant actions to solve business problems for the brand, as well as generating tumor level knowledge above brand. Ensure interpretation of primary market research with strong business acumen to generate evidence-based and actionable insights.
- Employ a range of resources and techniques to forecast revenues in a consistent, transparent, and robust manner to support investment decisions and resource planning. Be responsible for the development, delivery and team alignment of the product/brand forecast and related assumptions.
- Present your analysis and synthesis to brand leaders in a way that is succinct, persuasive, and decision-oriented to drive team alignment.
- Work closely with AZ colleagues and Agency analysts to lead the generation of competitive analysis for a brand, and that the implications are reflected in forecasts and embedded in the brand team’s thinking.
- Lead and negotiate with local markets to validate assumptions and market understanding. Share key knowledge and build a collaborative relationship with market insights leads.
- Possess/develop deep therapy area knowledge bridging from clinical development through to commercialization.
- Lead performance/KPI development and reporting, including best practice sharing, enabling a detailed understanding of brand performance and opportunities based on a variety of inputs. Analyze in-market performance to identify growth opportunities for in-line products and inform market shaping strategies for pipeline products at tumor level.
Essential skills/experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, mathematics or a commercial-related field (advanced degree preferred, e.g. PhD, MBA)
- 3 years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, advisory firm or investment bank
- Qualitative and quantitative market research experience
- Commercial brand strategy understanding
- Oncology experience
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $181,503 to $272,255. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles).
