We don’t just sell creative solutions to our clients and partners, we help to shape them; using our expert knowledge of ad products, sales channels and the industry to impact the way the world experiences music and podcasts. We’re looking for someone with an established record of sales leadership and revenue generation with a deep interest and passion for online media, music and innovation. You will be responsible for advertising efforts and lead a team of hardworking and consultative sales leaders within a defined region. We want someone who has a passion for building and growing businesses, developing relationships externally and internally, is well versed in public speaking and engaged within local regions.
What You'll Do
- Define the Japan sales growth strategy; meet and exceed revenue and targets
- Handle sales forecasts accurately, set budgets and goals for the sales team
- Engage with key clients on a senior level, and deliver extraordinary consultative customer service
- Hire, develop and actively coach sales talent & managers within the region. Analyze, validate and update performance to increase growth
- Implement/lead/oversee client events, social engagements, and sponsorships based on local market dynamics and broad business knowledge
- Represent the Spotify Brand at client and agency summits through public speaking, panel moderation, and keynotes
- Maintain high levels of communication and visibility with management, cross-functional teams, and business partners internally and externally
- Collaborate with key cross-functional partners, including music & podcasts teams to collectively grow the Spotify business in Japan
Who You Are
- You have 15+ years of advertising / marketing sales experience including 10+ years in sales leadership which also includes 5+ years of larger staff management in the Japan market
- Highly motivated, organized and entrepreneurial, you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and build with the team
- You are an inspiring leader who recognizes the value of working as a team and gets fulfillment from growing others
- You have mastered the fundamentals of sales management and leadership including forecasting, client research, pitch and presentations skills, bottoms up planning, and meeting reports
- You have strong agency & brand relationships, with an existing network of senior level contacts in media and marketing
- Great communication, consultative selling, problem solving and negotiating skills and optimally position Spotify's ad solutions through creative storytelling
- Strategically use data and insights to inform client investment strategy
- You have a deep understanding of the digital ecosystem and trends around digital, programmatic, audio & video best practices, opportunities, and challenges
- Understanding and expertise in account and strategic planning, and media buying
Where You'll Be
- This role will be based in Tokyo, Japan
- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home
