24 UX Designer Resume Examples, Backed by Real Interview Data (2026)
by Sam WrightUX designer resume examples from real resumes that reached interviews at Google, Amazon, and Pinterest, plus product, research, and design-systems models.
Build a resume for freeThese UX designer resume examples do the one thing a portfolio cannot: they prove the work moved a number. The portfolio shows the screens; the resume shows the conversion lift, the fewer steps, the study that killed a bad feature. The examples on this page come from real people who reached UX designer interviews, plus what 26,200 job postings say about the skills that get read.
This page is built on 501 real UX designer resumes in Huntr's system and 26,200 job postings. The verified examples are anonymized composites assembled from resumes that reached design interviews for our research and vetted by Sam Wright, Huntr's Head of Career Strategy. Every name, employer, and school was changed so no example is a real person, and the illustrative examples that follow are grounded in what real UX designer postings ask for.
Design a resume that opens doors
Huntr's resume builder starts you from structures that reached interviews, then tailors your resume to each job posting.
What UX Designer Resumes That Reached Interviews Shared
We looked at 17 resumes from 10 people who landed UX designer interviews on Huntr, next to 26,200 postings that list required skills. The figures in this section come from that cohort and those postings.
- The clearest pattern is a path, not a pedigree. People moved into UX from marketing, content strategy, and even library science, and let the portfolio carry the proof. A design degree was common but not required.
- Figma is the price of entry. It shows up in 70% of the 26,200 postings we checked, so if it is not on your resume and in your portfolio, you read as out of date.
- The basics are stated outright. Half of postings name UX design (51%) and prototyping (45%). Those are table stakes, so lead your bullets with the outcome, not the activity.
- Employers read UX as a team sport. Communication (54%) and collaboration (47%) sit in the top four skills, so name who you worked with, engineers and PMs included.
- Research shows up more on the resumes that got read. User research appears in 38% of postings and on far more of the resumes that reached interviews. Show a study that changed a decision, not just "conducted user research."
- Length followed the work, not a rule. About 76% of these interviewed resumes ran two pages or under, and they carried a median of 6 roles without padding.
- Certifications backed the portfolio, never replaced it. They stayed light and practical here: a Google UX certificate, a bootcamp, a usability credential. None stood in for the work.
- Design systems is the senior tell. It appears in 15% of postings and is where senior candidates separate themselves. If you built or owned a component library, put an adoption number on it.

Skills for a UX Designer Resume
We counted the skills across 26,200 real UX designer postings on Huntr, and our UX designer skills guide breaks them down further. Pull from what employers actually ask for, then keep only what the specific job description names.
Core: UX design (51% of postings), communication (54%), collaboration (47%), user-centered design (14%), interaction design (18%), visual design (19%).
Methods: user research (38%), prototyping (45%), wireframing (29%), usability testing (24%), information architecture, design systems (15%). Interview-winning resumes usually paired research with a shipped outcome rather than listing methods alone.
Tools: Figma (70% of postings), Sketch (22%), Adobe XD (12%), plus HTML (22%), CSS (22%), and JavaScript (12%) for handoff. Name the tools you have actually designed and shipped in.
How to use this: The winners mixed all three bands and tailored the set to each posting. A resume that lists tools with no research, or methods with no outcome, reads half-finished. Put the tools in your portfolio, not just your skills list.
Action Verbs for UX Designer Resumes
Design: designed, prototyped, wireframed, redesigned, shipped. Use these where a metric can follow: redesigned onboarding, raising completion from 62% to 84%.
Research: researched, tested, interviewed, synthesized, validated. These prove decisions: ran 20 customer interviews that killed a planned feature.
Build and scale: built, owned, standardized, systematized, documented. Pair with adoption: built a 60-component design system used by 4 squads.
The weak version of every UX bullet starts with "worked on." The strong version names what you designed, who you designed it with, and what changed.
Turn a Weak UX Bullet Into a Strong One
Weak
Worked on redesigning the onboarding flow and improving the overall user experience of the mobile app.
Strong
Redesigned the mobile onboarding flow after 12 usability tests, cutting it from 7 screens to 3 and raising completion from 62% to 84%.
Same project, different evidence. The strong bullet answers the three questions a hiring manager and a portfolio reviewer both ask: what did you change, how did you know, and did it work.
UX Designer vs Graphic Designer on a Resume
Focus: a UX designer solves for how a product works and gets used; a graphic designer solves for how it looks and communicates. Evidence: UX resumes prove flows, tests, and adoption numbers; graphic design resumes prove brand systems, deliverables, and campaign reach. Portfolio: both lead with a link, but the UX portfolio walks a case from problem to shipped result, while the graphic portfolio shows finished craft. If your bullets already cite usability tests and conversion lifts, you are a UX designer, whatever your last title said.
Get a UX Designer Resume Read by a Human
A screener parses your resume before a design lead ever sees the portfolio. Keep the title standard (UX Designer, not Experience Wizard), spell out the tools exactly (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD are string matches, not concepts), and put the portfolio link where it cannot get stripped. Run the posting through Huntr's keyword scanner to find the skills you are missing, then let Resume Tailor work the matches into your resume. Tailored resumes reach interviews at about 5.8%, roughly 1.6x the rate of generic ones, in our data.
UX Designer Resume FAQ
How long should a UX designer resume be?
Two pages is fine. About 76% of the interview-winning UX resumes we studied ran two pages or under, carrying a median of 6 roles. Cut filler and repeated tools, never cut a project that moved a number.
Do I need a design degree to get UX interviews?
No. This cohort included people who moved into UX from marketing, content strategy, and library science. A degree was common but not required. A portfolio that shows real problems solved, plus a bootcamp or a Google UX certificate, carried candidates without a design pedigree.
Should a UX resume link the portfolio?
Yes, at the top. A UX resume without a portfolio link reads incomplete, since the portfolio is where the work lives. Put the URL in your contact line, keep it live, and make sure the cases match the outcomes your resume claims.
What skills should a UX designer put on a resume?
Start from the posting. Across 26,200 postings the constants are Figma (70%), UX design (51%), prototyping (45%), user research (38%), and communication (54%). Mix tools, methods, and core skills, and tailor the set per application rather than listing everything you have touched.
Methodology
The verified examples are composites of real resumes attached to jobs that reached design interviews on Huntr. The core UX designer example draws on 17 resumes from 10 people; the product designer example draws on 69 resumes from 41 people; the others draw on smaller interview-stage sets for their track. We swap names, employers, and schools for comparable real ones and check every swap against our database so no example points to a person. Blended composites keep figures as written; where one or two resumes anchor an example we shift the numbers to nearby values. The interview companies we name are real and never changed.
The other examples are illustrative, labeled as such on every callout. They make no interview claim. Their skills come from the postings data cited above, and their shape follows what the verified resume does: a portfolio link up top, one scope number in the summary, and an outcome in every bullet.
Conclusion
Across these interview-winning resumes the pattern held: a portfolio link that opens the door, then a resume that proves the design work paid off. Fewer steps, higher completion, wider adoption, a study that changed the plan. None of it required a famous employer or a design degree. It required evidence, written in numbers a hiring manager can check against the portfolio.
