This position is responsible for timely, accurate and comprehensive review of services. This position is also responsible for verifying charges and assigns valid ICD-10 and CPT codes to ensure optimal reimbursement and regulatory compliance. This position also provides education to the sections with trend reporting to ensure proper coding, documentation, and accuracy to facilitate efficient billing of charges.

Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus training and education as a Certified Procedural Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist--Physician-based (CCS or CCS-P).
  • Also required are: demonstrated excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills; and strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Five years of CPT and ICD-10 coding experience in a healthcare provider or a third party payer and 3 years experience as an instructor/trainer is preferred.
  • Clinical knowledge preferred.
