RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST TRAINEE .
WORK SCHEDULE - VARIABLE/ALTERNATE DAY SHIFTS
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Advanced diagnostic imaging, specialized clinical expertise. Radiology Services at Harborview Medical Center offers a full complement of radiology tests and imaging procedures, including nuclear medicine and interventional radiology (angiography).
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Performs diagnostic radiograph exams as assigned by Lead or Supervisor. Transferring and positioning patients as well as providing immobilization. Provide positioning devices as required and select proper technical factors and operate radiographic equipment.
Is able to operate the following equipment/systems: Computed Radiography equipment, PACS, the Hospital information System, and the Radiology Information System. Able to print and retrieve images. Can implement downtime procedures as needed.
Provides radiation protection prescribed by safety standards for patients, self and other hospital personnel.
Assists in administrating contrast media.
Provides the appropriate education to patients and their families prior to and post radiology procedure.
Reviews and QC's own work with assistance from technologist.
Maintains adequate computer and/or written records using the Radiology Information Systems.
Help maintain a clean and well-stocked working environment.
Adheres to and understands basic asepsis and sterile techniques to avoid contamination of equipment and supplies and infection of patients and self.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS - Current enrollment in a formal AMA-approved Radiologic Technology training program
OR equivalent education/experience
- Registered as an X-Ray Technician by the State of Washington
