End Device Support Specialist !
WORK SCHEDULE 100% FTE – 40 hours per week
Day Shift – HOURS WILL BE: 09:30 – 18:00 (PST), Monday-Friday
Required participation in team on call schedule DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

Two retirement plans to choose from PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinating the management of desktop end computing devices within UW Medicine
Providing standard to complex level system administration and customer service to the computing device community
Maintaining strong customer relationships, gathering customer requirements, developing new technologies, and communicating supporting resources
Identifying needs, performing standard to complex level technical analysis on client systems, and adapting and integrating existing software and hardware systems
Participating in the on-call schedule in support of a 24-hour/7-day production environment, and working with departmental IT staff to train users and clients in Medical Center standard systems REQUIREMENTS Three years of experience in programming and/or computer support services of a technical nature OR one year of experience as Computer Support Specialist I OR equivalent education/experience
Proficient experience in current MS Office suites
Experience must include hands-on, desk-side, hardware, and software support
Experience installing and troubleshooting standard Windows operating systems
Must have a valid Washington State Driver’s license to enable transportation of UW assets CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT This classification is in a bargaining unit.
Participation in on-call rotation is required.
The individual in this position is expected to work normal daytime hours. The work may be performed in an office, medical center environment, during normal business hours; however, significant off-hours and weekends may be needed to resolve problems and respond to emergencies. This individual is expected to be available for emergencies (business continuity/disaster recovery efforts) on a 24x7 basis as needed.
Because of the physically separated sites for UW Medicine, this position requires the ability to travel to alternative work locations as needed.
Must coordinate projects without direct supervisory authority.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance on a regular basis.
