Housing & Food Services (“HFS”) has an outstanding opportunity for a Business Systems Analyst to provide professional-level leadership and vision for Housing & Food Services (HFS) business systems and their integration with other HFS and University systems. Serve as an expert on business systems, ensuring maximum utilization, appropriately trained personnel and timely problem resolution. Play a key role in current and upcoming HFS and University systems replacements including Student Database, Housing Management Systems, and others, providing leadership with respect to transition and integration for HFS systems, processes and staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
For assigned systems and customers/end users:
Analysis of needs and goals
• Advance projects and initiatives related to HFS business process and systems needs in accordance with departmental strategic priorities
• Anticipate changing business needs and implement continuous analysis to support process transformation
• Consult with stakeholders to analyze business processes and goals to identify solutions and improvements
• Conduct needs, data, gap and business analysis to identify customer and user needs
• Assess unit’s activities and trends and compare against best practices
• Identify root causes for business problems and create sound cases for resolution.
• Identify solutions that meet business needs with technical stakeholders
• Maintain knowledge of policies and regulations, analyze changes for potential impact on systems; develop and recommend methods for compliance
Connecting people to existing solutions
• Coordinate and consult with system owners and technical experts on available system functionality to solve for business needs
• Identify ways to maximize use of data in support of key activities
• Consult on and support system configuration to improve stakeholder adoption according to technical best practices
• Consult on system issues and calls from users
• Source, supplement and maintain user manuals and operating procedures for systems
• Support development of technical documentation for application configuration and usage
• Support subject matter experts and system owners in the training of systems personnel and users in all facets of systems
Evaluate potential new systems and services
• Assess opportunities to add systems and processes to increase the value of services. Present alternatives to management.
• Engage in projects from inception to completion
• Document, prioritize and track requests for changes and enhancements
• Coordinate with management, technical staff, and users to establish, prioritize, design, and test requirements for systems and interfaces
• Evaluate novel solutions for fit of purpose, use, and compliance. Participate in formal sourcing and procurement events for business systems and enhancements.
Support implementation and upgrade of systems and services
• Participate in the implementation of new HFS and University business systems and upgrades to existing systems. Identify the most effective path to integration with HFS business systems. Coordinate HFS involvement to ensure a successful transition.
• Liaise with users, HFS IT, campus partners, and third-party vendors of business software systems through planning, implementation, upgrade and production phases
• Lead and/or participate in the development and execution of technical and process change management plans, testing plans, feasibility studies, work breakdown structures and user training
• Liaise with people-focused change management staff and processes to support transition for technical change efforts

POSITION COMPLEXITIES
Integration of multiple, diverse systems, urgency of attention to system issues and coordination with University systems.
IMPACT TO THE UNIVERSITY
Systems impact record keeping and integrity of data regarding student housing applications and assignments; dining transactions; financial transactions; payroll; and ID card transaction data. Systems also impact Department relationships with students and campus colleagues.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Regular Monday through Friday office hours with occasional hours required for special projects and emergencies.

HFS Chief Financial Officer
Requirements include:
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Hotel and Restaurant Administration, Public Administration or closely related field,
• AND four years of related professional experience working, developing, designing, installing and maintaining complex automated management systems, or equivalent.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Desired:
• Knowledge of housing, dining, and/or financial operations in a higher education setting
• Knowledge of accounting software, including Workday
Conditions of Employment:
• A satisfactory outcome from the reference check process is required prior to hire
